High in the mountains outside Barcelona is a Jesuit monastery with a basilica that houses a statue of the Virgin Mary known as the Black Virgin. Its surroundings are as spectacular as the basilica. However, what we did not anticipate was the Museum at Montserrat. Although we couldn't take any pictures, on the next page we've attempted to give you some idea of the surprises that we encountered in the museum.
