Having returned to town, we boarded an early bus and went back up to Machu Picchu to see it by morning light and before the daytrippers arrived. We poked around the urban sector till the sun and the altitude began to get the better of us. On the way back to Quito, we stopped at a roadside bar that makes its own corn-based liquors.
